See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

Timber-framed and originally several cottages, parts of the building have stood here since the 14c but it has only been used as a public house for around 200 years. There are two bars: one at the front and one at the rear of the building which serves the dining area. A large, well-kept garden extends to the Cathedral Close wall with a fire pit used on weekend evenings. At one time housed those working on the cathedral. There is a glass viewing area in the main bar showing the foundations of the building. Renowned for being the first pub in Salisbury to go 'Non-smoking' in around 1990.
